Devotional #2 - No Tomorrow
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
— John 10:10
Message:
Every day we are in danger of spiritual complacency—those “later” moments where we delay obedience, thinking we’ll act tomorrow, when in reality tomorrow never comes. The enemy thrives in those gaps, whispering the same ancient lie he’s used since the Garden: “You have time.”
But Scripture tells us there is no neutral ground. Every choice either advances God’s kingdom or gives the enemy room to operate. The battle is real, and it’s happening in our daily choices: what we say “yes” to, what we say “no” to, and what we postpone.

Delaying obedience is still disobedience. Waiting for “better timing” often becomes the very tool the enemy uses to keep us sidelined. Jesus calls us to act now, to rise, and to engage in the work of His kingdom without hesitation.

Applicability to Our Life:
-
Every “later” can become a stolen opportunity, whether to share Christ, to serve someone in need, or to break a sin pattern.
-
Complacency doesn’t feel dangerous, but it’s a slow erosion of spiritual ground.
-
We’re not called to be spectators; we’re called to be soldiers, actively advancing the mission of God in every season.

Reflection Questions:
-
What’s one area of my life where I’ve been saying “later” to God?
-
How have I seen the enemy use delay to keep me from obedience?
-
What does “getting off the sidelines” look like for me right now?
-
How can I prepare spiritually each day to be ready for the battle?
-
Who in my life needs to see me living with urgency for Christ?

Prayer:
Father, wake me from my complacency. Open my eyes to see the battle before me and the enemy’s schemes. Break the chains of delay and hesitation in my heart. Give me courage to act today, not tomorrow, to follow Your Spirit’s prompting without fear or excuse. Make me a soldier in Your service, ready to stand for truth and fight for what matters most. May my life advance Your kingdom and bring You glory, every single day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Poem: "No Tomorrow"

“I will tomorrow, Lord,” I say like a prayer,
Knowing deep inside, I won’t be there.
I’ve made this vow a thousand ways,
And still I waste these precious days.

Why do I stall, delay, pretend,
As if this war will someday end?
The enemy is near, he’s prowling still,
He comes to steal, destroy and kill.

I know this war, I’ve seen the cost,
The souls deceived, the moments lost.
A lion crouched behind my pride,
And I just nod and step aside.
There is no neutral, no middle ground,
You either build His kingdom, or you tear it down.
Each “later,” a whisper, from the one who deceives,
An ancient lie my heart still believes.
Why trade the truth for idol thought,
And lose the ground the cross has bought.
Why flirt with chains, I’ve been set free,
For they no longer have a hold on me.
So why this drift, this slow decay?
Why waste the strength I have today?
Why give up what He died to give,
And fail the call I’m meant to live?
Why do I find it so hard to trust,
When history echoes his faith to us?
How long will I ignore the voice,
The Spirit calls, I know the choice.
Oh God, please wake me from this weary haze,
And set my heart on heaven’s ways.
No more waiting for skies to clear,
The frontline calls, the need is here.
So make me your soldier, I’m ready to obey,
To act with courage and not delay.
No more tomorrow, no false disguise,
It’s time to fight, it’s time to rise.
